Complete the suite of core definition documents, directly enabling development of interoperable P25 Phase 2 TDMA equipment.
During the TIA/TR8/P25 meetings that took place in Charleston, SC during the week of Octomber, 18th, the TR8.12 (2 slot TDMA) Technical Committee approved the P25 Phase 2 TDMA MAC layer document (TIA-102.BBAC) for TIA Publication.
The Phase 2 TDMA MAC document and the earlier Phase 2 TDMA Physical layer document (TIA-102BBAB published by TIA in July 2009) represent the core definition standards documents for interoperable P25 Phase 2 TDMA equipment.
The completion of these standards (TDMA Physical TIA-102.BBAB and TDMA MAC layer TIA-102.BBAC) will enable manufactures to develop P25 Phase 2 TDMAed equipment. This is another major milestone towards availability of P25 Phase 2TDMA equipment.
Phase 2 standards for consoles and interoperability between systems are still needed.
“Phase 2 TDMA affects the P25 Console Subsystem Interface (CSSI) because it affects the Inter RF Subsystem Interface (ISSI) on which the CSSI is based,” said Zetron’s Richmond. “It does not, however, affect the Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI) because the DFSI is only used in conventional systems, and TDMA is not yet planned for conventional systems.”
“ISSI is very critical for users and interoperability,”
看來 P25 Phase 2 TDMA 還需要2~3年才能漸次成熟, 可能等到2013年才可能多廠商互連 (Phase 2 trunking).
